HHHMMM...

I've been thinking about how I could use blogs in my classroom. I suppose I could have students showcase some of their works and write a few thoughts on that piece. However, it just seems to me that a Wiki may be a better form of online portfolio. Then again what do I know about either. I'm just now being introduced to both of them.
I'm also a little concerned about some of the comments others could post with using it in a school setting that is. Does anyone know if there's anyway to secure blogs???

  1. I don't know much about securing blogs, but it is a great question. I believe that you can place settings so that the teacher would be able to proof all postings before they are actually posted. If that is true, its a good idea but can be quite a large burden for the teacher depending on how many students would be posting and how often.

  2. I would have the same concerns about comments on student artwork. The best way to filter the comments would be like Jenna said and proof them. It may be a lot of work and time proofing comments. You would definitely have to way the "worth it" factor. Your idea of artwork on a wiki sounds like it may be a good alternative.
